Distinction and Creativity Award.

To Dina, Mona, Nancy, Ramzi, my parents, and Rajai,

Today, I won the award of Distinction and Creativity for my academic achievement in the English Department and for the creativity in my writing. I am indescribably filled with happiness and pride. All I want to do is dance  and hug whomever is around! To win such an esteemed award for something that is an inseparable part of who you are is a great honor and joy. To have all the effort you’ve been putting in your academic life and in nurturing your talent recognized is what every person craves. To be deemed creative and distinguished is everything I could have ever asked for.

This is a letter to everyone who has touched me and changed me irrevocably, a letter to everyone who has inspired words, poems, images, and stories for me to write. This is for you:

I am forever grateful to you, for you have been my inspirational muses for a very long time, filling my imagination with colors, unremitting positivity, and beautiful memories. I store all the moments we share in an archive of beauty and I delve into it whenever I am in need of motivation, lifting up, and creativity. Your presence in my life enriches it. In your eyes I perceive a reflection of my dreams. You are the light that propels me forward, always ever-present in all the stages I go through as I navigate my way to success. There isn’t anyone else I would like to share this success and this elation with other than you. Thank you for being in my life, for encouraging me, and for believing in me and in my talent.

Love,
Tamara.
